The Braxton Hicks contractions become more regular. If your water breaks, you need to see your doctor immediately.

Your baby

Your baby will weigh around 2250 gm by now. The scalp hair is getting thicker. Your baby is fully developed except for lung maturity. The baby’s taste buds are also developed.

Dos and Don’ts

  • Time for you to know the symptoms of labour. They are – pain coming in intervals from back to front, any blood-stained discharge or mucous, fresh bleeding, gush of water coming out as the the water bag bursts.
  • Keep an eye on your baby’s movements. Normally, there should be about 8-10 movements per day. Inform your doctor if there are too many or too few movements, as they are indicative of the baby’s condition.
  • Keep up with your supplements.
  • Learn about pain relief during labour from your doctor.
  • Plan your labour with your doctor. Discuss all possible ways of delivering your baby, such as normal delivery at home or in the hospital, chances of surgery, forceps delivery and episiotomy.
  • Keep your labour bag ready.
  • You should visit your doctor every week now.
