Halloween Party

Theme: Halloween party

Halloween is one of the favourite days among children. They get to play all the pranks and have fun. It is not as popular in the east as it is in the west. It is preferable to arrange a Halloween party indoors.

Costume

Ask the children to come dressed as anything they wish like a boy or girl from the 60’s, any spooky character, Frankenstein, cowgirl, cowboy, F.B.I agent, butterfly, Jack-O-Lantern or Dracula.

Decoration

Any room becomes a “Fright House” when the lights are dimmed. Simply use your dimmer switch or replace regular light bulbs with lower wattage bulbs. Set pictures at an angle as if “ghostly fingers” moved them.

Put lots of fake cobwebs around. You can adorn the cobwebs with fake plastic spiders. This is the best and least expensive decorating idea. If you have some old furniture this is a good time to use it.

Soft flickering lights and low wattage bulbs can be used. Regular bulbs can be replaced by blue and red bulbs. Black lights are available at many hardware stores, which you can use to give a really scary effect.

Welcome the children with some Halloween music. There are cassettes available on Halloween songs in the music stores.

As return gifts or souvenirs, you can give eye masks, plastic, lizards, cockroaches, bats etc., spooky key chains, weird shaped chocolates and cookies which are specially made during Halloween.

Halloween parties can be simple or very elaborate. It can be as simple as having a few friends over to watch scary movies and eat strange food or have a large crowd with Halloween music, and your own Halloween Dance.
